Blew a plug out of my expo and the mechanic says he cameraed the hole and says the hole is oblonged and not sure if a insert will grab. Do you guys have any knowledge on the big sert or even the stand alone big sert they make. Trying to get around a new head. Any input will help. Thanks

Not sure but the regular timesert worked well, the bigsert looks like it might work for you .
How did the "mechanic" screw it up, What was he doing ?

Wait, did he already ream the hole with the tool? And exactly how oblong is it?

There is only one Ford approved way to repair the threads (and I can't remember the name) it uses an insert with a small pin that locks it in place. You may want to look in to it.

The hole is factory. It's never been touched. He says he doesn't think his insert will hold and he uses the lisle kit. I just bought a timesert big kit to do it. I think it'll hold up just fine. Ill have a timesert kit for sale next week with only 1 insert used if anyone's interested.
