I have a 2003 Expedition and would like to purchase the Nitto Terra Grappler with either 17" or 18" wheels. What is the largest tire size I can purchase without any modifications to my Expedition? I am looking at purchasing one of the following.

285/60R-18
285/65R-18
285/70R-17
295/70R-17
325/60R-18

Thanks!

Look on your door jamb for the factory tire size sticker. You can then go here to figure out the equivalent rolling radius.

For my 97 Expedition, the factory tire size is 255/70R16. The "plus one" concept states that for going up in rim size, you should add 20 to the width and subtract 10 from the sidewall height. However, I did some playing with the calculator there and discovered that for my sizes that doesn't quite apply...

255/70R16 = 275/60R17 = 295/55R18

YMMV

I know that my stock 03 Expedition's tire size is 270/70R-17, but I wanted to see what the largest Nitto Terra Grappler was I could fit.

Anyone have an 03' or equiv. with these tires who can provide any advice?
