Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to put new, "meatier" tires on my 2003 Expy XLT 4x4. We live in Northern VA and own a cabin in WV, unmaintained road ... so I believe we need a more agressive tire.

Does anyone have recommendations? What's the largest tire that will comfortably and safely fit on the Expy?

Many thanks!

Ken

Ken,

I have nothing but great experiences with the BFG Goodrich All-Terrain TA KO's. It is an LT tire, can be aired down quite a bit if you need to, is quite aggressive, and wears well. It has great ratings ratings (check out http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/bfgapp/index.jsp)

I think your truck uses the P265/70R17 tires, so I think you could use what I use which is a slightly larger tire, LT285/70/R17.

The largest tire you can put on depends if you want to lift the truck.

I just put a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's on my 1999. Very nice tire, definitely meatier than the factory tires, and less expensive than the (very good) BF Goodrich T/O's.

You should browse around www.tirerack.com and read the owner reviews on these tires.
