Adding data points. Just completed a 3,000 mile trip. Expedition towed better than our 2022 6.2 v8 F250. Used Andersen WDH.

Leg 1: Towing 8,500lbs (5k boat, 1k gear, 2.5k trailer) 591 miles. 7.1 mpg.

Leg 2: Not towing. 500 miles not using cruise control and at 75-90mph. 19.3mpg.

Leg 3 Not towing. 1,072 miles. 21.3mpg. Cruise control set between 65-75 mph for 90% of time.

Total trip 2,846 miles 14.3mph.

Very impressed.

Has anyone towed with a tuned expedition. I’m interested to know if it helps with fuel economy? I had to go with the 2022 XLT for more payload. Same axle and trans as my 2021 f150. It has the 380hp, not the 400hp of the limited or f150. My f150 averaged 9.5-10 towing my Airstream, my expedition is in 8-9 range.

No noticeable improvement with a tune. Really depends on what you're towing and the aerodynamics of the unit, environment and altitudes. Horrible MPG around where I live (hills, mountains, elevation) when towing.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m towing everywhere. Just looped the country, I guess it is what it is, at least I have 8 seats.

If I might add, I used to tow a 25 ft trailer single axle that was about 3800 lbs fully loaded and my current 31 ft dual axle 6500 lbs fully loaded has better mpg and feels better than the smaller and lighter one!

The trip you're doing must be awesome. Care to share any good or bad stories / lessons learned about the experience with your vehicle?
