I just bought these mirrors from 1AAutos, and wanted to share them. I couldn't believe that Ford - or anyone else - hadn't realised that most people with Expeditions tow things with 'em, and it would be really good to see the back of them...

So, forgive me if everyone knows about these. I'm very happy with them and figured that some others might be looking for them, too.

They are pretty easy to fit. The door panel has to come off, then the mirror is attached with 3 10mm bolts...a couple of electrical connections which are detailed by 1AAuto. The first one will probably take an hour if you're not sure about removing the door panel (check Youtube) and then the second about half an hour.

My OEM mirrors did auto fold, and these don't...they are more substantial than the originals, and maybe the motors aren't strong enough. However they fold in well. They sell a more complex model, but i didn't go for it. However the top mirror does adjust electrically with the inside control.

I'm very happy with them.

Sorry, Matt, forget to mention that while the new mirrors have a puddle light (for what it's worth!) they don't have the blinker.

Yes, they will. Mine is a 2005 and you can see how they fit in the pictures...the three bolys are in the same place as on the original and the triangular piece that holds against the door is the same shape.

The photos you see are of the mirrors fitted to my 2005 Expedition Limited.

I bought them from 1AAUTOS. The website is 1AAuto.com. They have a decent website that is easy to navigate.

So one last question... Do these work on a second gen that doesn't have power mirrors? I have an '03 with standard heated puddle light mirrors and they are manual folding... So if it got these would I be able to fit them?

Hi,

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to fit them...after all the only important part is if the three bolts that hold the mirror to the vehicle. I can't imagine that these would vary. The mirrors come with an electrical connection so you'll get your puddle light. As for the manual fold part I'm folding them that way because the electrical fold doesn't work. This may be because the new mirrors are quite big. Having said all that your questions are probably best addressed to 1AAuto, so if they steer you wrong you can get your money back.
I'll post a couple more photos later today.

Been there, done that! Tried Princess Auto's cheapies, 2 different sets of ****'s and finally Milenco's Aeros...most of everything but the Aeros is scattered over highways in Ontario. I tried screws, duck tape, glue, velco, rubber straps, screwed tensioners...
