My 05 came with a tire pressure monitoring system which uses the electronic senders that are part of the valve stem. I replaced my OEM 17" wheels with a set of 07 18" OEM wheels & tires off an Eddie Bauer model Expy. They were take-offs as the guy went to 20" wheels. The new wheels do not have sensors according to the guy who sold them to me, I can tell they don't have the metal valve stems my 05 came with.
Anyway I put the new wheels on and I was fully expecting the see the TPMS light come on as I did not swap the old sensors onto the new wheels. Surprisingly no light, I drove around for a good 1/2 hour and nothing. I know the warning light works as the little pictue of the tire lights up when starting the car but immediately goes off with all the other warning lights. So why would it not be warning me that there is no signal from the TPMS senders? Anyone know more about this system?
