Just purchased a used 2001 ford expediton. The vehicle come with a 7 wire plug for the trailer hook up. The tail lights work but not the turn signal and brake lights. The fuses for the turn signal and brake lights was blown in the panel unde the hood. I replace the fuses but there is no power coming to these fuses now. There is no power to either side of the fuse when I test it with the light tester. Are these fuses fed by another fuse or relay somewhere else?

Thanks,

Best thing to do is get a wiring manual for your year. My 99 manual shows two fuses, one hot at all times, the other is hot in run. I have read a few threads where the circuit board used on the fuses holders have issues and require re-soldering. Time to get the circuit tester out and back trace the wiring.

Until someone with more knowledge chimes in, I have a 2000 model and my fuse under the hood was also blown when I bought it. I replaced the fuse and still didn't have right side turn/brake lights either. I found a plug connection under the air filter housing that wasn't allowing power to pass thru to one of the turn signal/brake light wires in my particular case. I just clipped that wire on both sides of the connector, and spliced it back together. Cant remember if I had power to the fuse after I changed it though. May be another fuse in the cab under left side of steering wheel maybe?

I looked in the owners manual, it doesn't look like there is one in the cabin fuse block. It isn't by chance the 7 pin connector you are using is it? I replace mine about once a winter cause they quit working after a while. Also wouldn't hurt to clean the contacts on the plug truck-side.

In the eng compartment the fuses would be #19 and 20 both are 10 amp also under the dash check fuse # 23 also a 10 amp fuse and also check the flasher relay see if this helps you
