I've got 150k on my 99 EXPY 4x2. I do minimal towing but am getting ready to buy a 4400lb toy hauler. The question is will I harm the tranny by changing the fluid and filter. I know it sounds stupid but when I worked at Jiffy Lube 25 years ago we would discourage car owners from replacement if the vehicle had over 60k miles on it with out ever being done before. I know dumb question but I would like some input. Thanks.

What does the fluid look like?

The problem you talked about was ususally a result of the burnt up fluid coating the internals, and not letting the new fluid pass.

If yours isn't brown and burnt, I say go for it. There are also a lot of trans 'flush' additives out there that you could use, if you're still worried.
