Hey guys!

I was wondering if there are any Stop Slip transmission additives that you have used, and would like to recommend, and is it okay to use on the transmission so that it doesn't damage anything.

Also, does the additive actually make a difference?

Thanks!

If your transmission is slipping it is due to wear on the o-rings, bands/clutches. Adding the quick fix crap only delays the rebuild if it works at all.
Most of the snake oil that is out there causes the friction or o-ring materials to swell thereby "fixing" the clearance problems.

Last time I had shoes that were loose, I didn't hit my foot with a hammer to get it to fit.....

Fix it the right way and be done with. Band aids are not fixes.

I had shifting problems caused by a broken spring, and not too long later slight 1-2 intermittent slip , it only happened a few times, and i dropped the pan right away, pulled the valve body and found the pistons hanging up, so its not always wear related. I agree additives are just a bandaid

I wouldn't worry about using a decent 'trans fix in a bottle'. I mean, what is the down side, you're out $10 or $12 bucks. No, it's not going to be a permanent fix, but if you need time to save up the money for a rebuild, what the hell.

I would really do my research when looking for a trans shop, don't necessarily go for the cheapest guys out there.

Years ago when I worked in a trans shop we did 3-4 a day. With today's electronics they are more complicated and should take longer to rebuild & test.

If your going to swap it yourself, I would go with one that is already to go and has been tested on a trans dyno.
Right now I'm looking at the Monster line for mine.
