Has anyone added a trans temp gauge to their 1st gen? If so how did u do it? If not does anyone know how that would be done? As I've said before I plan on towing a 6x12 enclosed trailer on a 2000 mile round trip so I'd like to be able to keep an eye on the tranny

There is a port on drivers side, just above the pan.

Is it just a threaded hole with a plug in it- and I would just removed the plug and install the sending unit? I also saw someone "T" out of the port that goes to the trans cooler

Yes. Autometers probe screws right into port.

Isnt there a stock sensor? I can monitor the temp through the obdii port so I assumed it was just a factory sensor.
