Greetings! First time poster and new Expedition owner.

I am just now going through the car cleaning it up how I like it, etc. One thing that drives me a bit crazy (and I'm sure it does others) is that there's a fair bit of squeaks from the interior trim pieces. We just traded out of a 2011 GMC Acadia. One of the things I noticed on that car while pulling bits and pieces of trim out of it was that GM (and for all I know Ford at this point) is still using the same basic type of clip as found on the expedition trim parts, but they add an additional thin strip of non-adhesive plastic or teflon tape wedged between the clip and the receiving slot. I was thinking I might try and duplicate that on some of the noisier squeaks in the cabin and see if that helps. Has anyone tried this?

I haven't tried anything yet but I would be very interested to see what the outcome is. The trim rattles also drive me crazy too. I have read on other forums that it may help some. I was also thinking about taking a small, thin piece of adhesive felt and putting it on the main contact areas of the trim to try and quiet things up too.

I have seen this or other types of foam or felt looking material on different cars. Even my 1997 Mark VIII has this on some of the trim. You can buy things like this aftermarket along with other sound deadening materials. You can make huge difference in how a quiet or luxurious a vehicle feels with some work and not a ton of money. I had a former State Police Crown Vic that had rubber floor covering that I added some sound deadening to the floors and doors along with actual carpet and it made a big difference for $300 and a days work.
