Turns but won't start, but starts second try

Hello all, newbie to this forum. Needing some advice on a problem with my 2008 Expy XLT. If it has been sitting a while-an hour or more-when I try to start it, it turns like its going to start, but doesn't catch. After I turn it back to run, it still keeps trying to turn. Once I turn it all the way off and try to start again, it starts right up.

I'm guessing it's the fuel pump, but only a guess. I'm clueless when it comes to newer engines!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

turn it to run and listen for a sound, a whine or a pump. thats the fuel pump. if it works then turn to start. i do that every time and starts no problem.

if you can (or have someone) put a fuel presure guage on it and see what the presure is and how quickly it builds. also when did you put a fuel filter on it last?

It has 57.000 miles, and I haven't replaced fuel filter yet. I'll try that first since it needs done anyway and should be cheap. Thanks for the help!

Fuel filter didn't fix it. Any other ideas?
