I have a 99 Expy I just picked up and I know this may sound a little....petty but for such a big truck it has a pretty whimpy horn. Is this something I can do anything about? Or is this one of those, 'it is what it is' situations?

Wolo is a huge manufacturer of aftermarket horns and sirens.

They have just about any kind of horn you can think of, and you can listen to a sample on the web site. (I discovered that last part too late)

I bought one of their 'bad boy' horns for the truck, but it isn't as 'bad' as I hoped. It kind of sounds like a ferrari horn. Kind of trumpet-y. I was hoping for more of the train horn sound, like the old Buick Electra Park Ave Diesel my parents had in the late 80s.

i have 2 wolo horns. a truck horn, its loud but not a low tone. and i have a high pitch car horn. both you can hear on the freeway. and both scare the crap out of people. but i do want to get a real big truck horn. some thing like a semi has or even train horns with a 5 gal tank. not just for the horn, but so i can use to fill up my tires or something like that.

I am thinking about installing the Wolo Big Bad Max. Are any of you familiar with that one? At this time I don't want to mess with the compressor and tank addition for the true big horn sound.

I've got the same problem. Have someone hit the horn while you lay under the RH front wheel well up (just in front of that both horns are mounted). Odds are that your low horn is not working. pick and pull time.
