Hello all, I like my 2024 XLT, except for a minor thing: I miss the automatic steps from my 2017 limited. I was looking for options to replace the simple plastic steps, and there are a lot of aftermarket steps that look great, but they all seem to use magnets in the door to control. Anybody have any experience with the quality of that? Perhaps it just feels iffy and it actually works great?
I asked my dealer if they could install the Limited steps, but they said it wasn't possible. They were referring to the fact that this didn't use magnets but is integrated. I understand this will be more work and hence money, but I wonder if it truly isn't possible because e.g. the connectors to connect the modules internally in the XLT are not there or the dealer just doesn't like the work and prefers a simpler magnet install? Anybody have any info or advise here?
