Update: Lund customer service is wonderful. After some initial confusion, they sent me and new set and photo's of how to correctly attach the ventvisors to the painted surface and not to the rubber molding. I used some blue painters tape and did a dry-fit before removing the adhesive tape. Thank you Jita.
