Visors wont stay back

I have a 2008 and now the visors are having a hard time staying back against the windshield when it's sunny out. I took it to the stealership to have them look at it and all they did was quote me for a new one, which is $400 for the driver and like $160 for the passenger. Crazy.

Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? I was thinking of something like plumbers tape on the shaft (sorry no other way to say that) so that it is less likely to slip, but was hoping for some other ideas??
