There must be a gauge or indicator that gives us info on the charging system, but I can't seem to find one. I'm probably being a dummy, but please let me know if it exists.

not that i can find either, i noticed it wasn't when i got my suv, also no CD player

Nope.
Cd player should be right below your volume knob.not that i can find either, i noticed it wasn't when i got my suv, also no CD player

As noted, and OBD device, and use your phone. I’m a bit dubious of the indicators on the dash (or the Bluetooth data, I don’t know which). The temperature swings significantly, but the dash gauge hardly moves - not very linear. It’d also like to see oil pressure (better than the ‘on/off’ gauge), but the app I have doesnt, for some reason, have that.
