More than one lean code? In your op you reported lean bank 2. You should find a shop that will smoke test the engine to locate the vac leak. Keep your fingers crossed for a simple fix.

Be aware that although plugs and COPs are common sources of misfires, they are not the only ones. If you have an intake manifold (vacuum) leak you would have a lean condition and possibly a misfire in the cylinder with the gasket failure. The smoke test will verify any leak.

Go to advanced auto and have them read the codes Write them down and then post them on the forum That helps others help you.

Have you ever cleaned out the exhaust ports in the throttle body? You would need to remove the throttle body to clean them out properly. Check youtube for videos

Right now it only has a pending P1074 lean code. Gonna try and smoke test it this weekend.

Can you check the fuel pressure with the Torque App? If not have it checked.

It shows the fuel rail pressure but at like 723 PSI, which can't be right, can it? Unless its got the decimal point in the wrong place, meaning 72.3.

I'll take a screen shot when I am done work.

What should the standard FP be on the 5.4?

Does the vac leak also cause the trans to drag out shifts? I find that if I don't let off the gas when I am coming up to highway speeds, it doesn't really shift into the next gear, also as the truck warms up, the stumbling and rpm surging gets worse.

I took a video while I was coming home from work, showing the RPM surges. It got worse later on, after it had been warmed up.

You can see it surging slightly in this video. The cruise control is set:

Causes a lot of problems. You have a DTC that tells you there is a fuel condition problem. When you eliminate a vacuum leak as the source, you can take steps to isolate the cause of the lean condition. Take one step at a time, there will be plenty. I start with common, simple and cheap R&R. For example, if a smoke test shows there isn't a vac leak you will be replacing the fuel filter and cleaning the MAF sensor. You will check the fuel pressure. You will avoid needlessly throwing parts at the problem by checking with this board after each step and help other guys in the future when you post a solution.

Enjoy working on your Expedition this weekend. Good to have nice weather in the forecast.

Lovely video shame you didn't take it in better light.

Why do so many post things on yourtube in the dark or while using a flash light???

Today we tore it apart. Found lots of vac lines broken. and we found at least 2 coils unplugged/very loose. Were doing intake manifold gaskets too in addition to spark plugs and coils.

My car club dudes working on it

My borrowed Expedition while mine is being finished. Its nasty as hell, has full catback.

All in all, after all is said and done, it should run loads better. The plugs in it were mix matched as well.

That oughta take care of the problem(s).

With the intake out of the way the plugs and coils are easy to change out. If I'm remembering correctly there is a hose that runs under the intake that you should inspect carefully and replace if questionable. Clean the living sh*t out of the throttle body while it's off.

Be sure to let us know how the work paid off.

just go ahead and replace it if you haven't already. been there and done that. mine looked okay but the corrosion happened from the inside on mine. something about a bad alternator ground...
