What’s this sensor?

I recently picked up a 2008 Expedition EL that has some…quirks.

It definitely had a prior front end accident, and was rebuilt at home by someone lacking proper skills.

Over the weekend I found this sensor hanging loose, between the radiator and grill, front passenger side.

What is it, and where should this be plugged in?

since its up by the radiator and has threads, my first guess was a temp sensor for the A/C or Fan did they replace the radiator? maybe they used the wrong one

Yep. New radiator.

I’m also throwing a code for fan circuit, so I’m guessing this is related.

yeah, that makes sense... fan needs to know when to turn on. i would pull up parts diagrams on ford part website and see if you can spot it

Aha! Looks like that’s the ambient air temp sensor.

Be surprised if it had anything to do with the fan circuit...are you meaning the engine fan, or the HVAC fan?
