Are tires for larger wheels significantly morexpen$ive?

Larger wheels have less rolling resistance and more smoothly roll over cracks and bumps and obstructions in the road.

Raising the vehicle would allow better undercarriage snow clearance.

Stick right around the 32 in mark and you should be ok. Maybe even a 285/70/17 about 32.5 in could possibly work without mods or grinding.
I've had 295/70/17 without the lift just to see and there was rubbing with the wheel turned and some rubbing when transitioning from roadway to driveways. It worked but I had to be careful where I pointed it

I have 285/55 r20 on mine, no rub ever. I am going to level it also. The tires came on the truck, it was a demo and the ones on there are BFG all terrain and they are very very very expensive. When I have to replace I will not get that size again.
