I was talking to machanic that i know today and telling him the problems that im having about poor performance and gas mileage and he asked me if i reset the ECU after i modifide the air box and installed the k&n, and had the flowmaster installed and removed the cats. and my answer was no. looking back, the problems started right about the time i cut the air box and put the k&n filter in and the gas mileage has gotten worse right after the muffler install and even worse after the cats were removed, So could that be the problem? Does the ECU learn from your driving habits and need to be reset after every mod, so it can learn the better air flow and the less restrictive exhaust?

i dont know about learning your habits...but its set to factory settings...i did K&N, flowmaster exhaust never had any probs...but i do have a programmer once i put my rims on...there are a lot to choose from...ECUs (JET or whoever) programmers (superchips, ECS, Diablo) put i would recommend getting something after all that work

obd II does not learn from driving habits like early obd I did... your problems were more than likly already there and the performance gains amplified the problems
