Jetchips thermostat and front 2 cats deleted (done by previous owner im just glad i was nosey enough to find out) i just cleaned it up and put tire shine under the hood, underneath i have flowmaster 40's muffler and a y pipe after the muffler for duals out the side with custom tips. Removing cats and putting exaust does increase mpg however we will never see it because it sounds so damn good that somehow our feet get heavier and were back to square one.... Just by my research anyway

@ whoizmootoo...how is that thermostat working out. Im going to get one this summer.

Thermostat is working great my temp never even made it into the half way point, i tested this out in el paso! 110 degrees and i was idling for an hour and a half with the a/c on watching a movie in my truck on my lunch break... Thats also when i realized the 2nd row when reclined is a hellofa lot more comfy then the drivers seat

Gott's mod, k&n drop in, SCT set at 87 Performance custom tune (truck does alot better than stock and the fuel economy is better), rolling on 35s with a 4" lift, I want to do the 2 rear cat delete with a magnaflow with 2 1/2 pipe and some nice 3 to 3 1/2 inch stainless tips, and do an electric fan for some mo powa and fuel economy, don't get me wrong, any small skewl bus is not going to get very good gas mileage, but we don't look like a douche bag in a prius either. :)

AUTOZONE HAS A PRETTY GOOD WRITE UP ON HOW TO

4.6L & 5.4L SOHC Engines

Partially drain the engine cooling system to a level below the thermostat.
Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the water outlet adapter.
Remove the power steering reservoir upper mounting bracket.
Remove the bolts and remove the water outlet adapter.
Remove the water thermostat and the O-ring seal. Discard the O-ring seal.
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the water outlet adapter bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm). Tighten the power steering reservoir upper mounting bracket as shown in the accompanying illustration.

Gotts mod with a K&N is my only mod for now.

A new exhaust and headers will be coming next. I would also like to install a trans temp guage.

When you get the new thermostat, they usually come with a new gasket, and I put silicone on both sides when putting it in. Be careful when tightening the bolts. When I changed my stat on my old truck, the housing was cast iron, and I ended up cracking it when putting it back together, I'm not sure what your housing is made of though.
