what is this? It's aftermarket something on an expedition. It was behind the grill. there was a toggle switch inside the car with wires that ran from switch to the battery and from the battery to this thing. this thing had a clear pipe running to the air intake. Did i mention its made out of PVC pipe, and filled with water & aluminum?

Is there a fan in it. Maybe it blows cool air into the intake.

Looks like water/methanol injection. Are there any signs that a nitrous kit was ever installed, or forced induction?

It actually looks more like an HHO. The mythical hydrogen generator that is supposed to boost mileage.

Many believe that these things work.... many more don't.

I have heard of these , Its a Hydrogen Emmitter...LOL sorta like the old Magnet on the fuel line trick to add Gasmileage. My vote is to remove it before it starts a FIRE!!

That is a “Browns gas generator” it makes HHO to be pulled into the engine vacuum. I had on on a 99 F-150 and got 25mpg at times. It will need To be maintain and cleaned if your going to try it. But that’s a homemade unit.
Works thru electrolytes releasing O and H H separately off an anode ( SS wire ) in distilled water and probably baking soda thru electrolysis. Was more popular a few years ago.
