What is this for?????????

Looked behind the rear panel in the back on the drivers side and saw this, can anyone tell me what this is and why someone would cut a hose in half and pug it with spark plugs????

It almost looks like the hose leading to the rear heating core. Do you get heat out of the back vent of the truck?

+1 on rear heater core supply/return.
suspect there may have been a previous leak.

The air blows but there is no heat. So could the core have been leaking?
