Hmmm... I think you're on to something. Until further notice this is what I'll use mine for. Great idea.

I just went through the 1999 owner's manual and it makes no reference to the center console.

My wife hangs her purse there. Garbage bag works for me too until one of the kids kicks it off and I have to pick that crap up again.
