okay im tired of picking between 2 - 5 different wheels with our lug patterns. so i was thinking about wheel adapters. i know what you all are thinking why? they break, they this they that... etc. ive had a friend with a long travel tacoma and 2" wheel spacers jump dunes and hit whoops fast and nothing wrong. also ive read on the f150online forum that people are having no troubles either. so what i was thinking was an adapter from the 5x135 to 5x5.5. should i get them and if so what size? i was thinking a like 1-1.5 inches max.

Specify wheels spacers or wheel adapters. Spacers I have run before on other vehicles[Mustangs] but did not go past 7/8". If you are talking about 1 1/2" spacers you have to think about what it will take to tighten the lug down and hold it there. Longer studs for one. Our vehicles have allot of weight to carry in straight lines and turns. On f150online, I think you will find running a spacer even close to that size is not recommended.

Now if its adapters, I would be interested to know what you find out. The guy on that forum with the 20x12,s on 35,s[?] I think is running a 5x5.5 with adapters.

Check out this website :

http://www.wheelsnext.com/default.cfm

They have like 20 pages with 25 wheels on each page of wheels that will fit the 5x135 on the expedition. You can pull it up by vehicle and it will show all/only the wheels that fit in many styles and sizes. You can also upload a pic of your own truck and see what the wheels will look like on it with there wheel visualizer.

I had thought of the adapters to, but they make the wheels stick out to far for my liking that and I don't really trust them.
