Man’s shifter?

Also, the 18+ have Tow/Haul and several other modes. They also have manual mode. Can also use the +/- to shift or lockout upper gears. Plus 10 gears to chose from....

I would argue the only real “man’s shifter” would be a manual. I’ve driven a 5-speed manual since I was 15 until I got this thing, and still miss it.

Even the best driver you know can’t outshift the 10R80. I’ve seen professional level drivers get smoked by the 10R80 and 5.0 combo. The automatic can hit 60 in 3.8 seconds. Just can’t do that with a stick shift without perfect conditions and luck.

I don’t disagree with you, I just like being the one that chooses when to shift. I hate when I need full throttle, you punch it, and it downshifts you to 2nd or 1st just to squeeze out 200 RPM from the lowest gear it could grab.

Looks aren't paramount of course, but the 2018+ just isn't visually appealing to me. It doesn't look like a truck anymore. It looks more like a hearse.
lol man that's one way to look at it, but you make a good point. tbh the 3rd gen with some polished wheels and a few touches to make it look modern/new, looks very very good to me ( they just need better tail lights, idk the whole rear looks dated on our 3rd gens ).
