Who has a programmer

Hey ya'll
It's carp, and I have another crazy question. Is there anyone who lives near or around the Hampton Virginia area that has a programmer, that will work on a 2000 Expy, I can't see spending 450.00 dollars to make one set of changes. Well just let me know.

Mine bonds itself with the vin of the first vehicle it programs so if you find one used make sure it'll program first. When mine is plugged in it starts up and says its vin locked.

That and most of the time they store the stock program on it while the vehicle has the performance program so chances are you'd need to buy one. You want to be to bring it back to stock anyways for when you bring it to a mechanic or dealer.

I actually have a question regarding these programers.

Are they worth it? I mean what is it that you can do when you hook one of these up to your car? This is one area i've never messed around with, and would like to know more.

I have a 99 4.6L and with a superchips (superchip's top of the line programmer the guy said) I got nothing to barely noticeable increase. I like it for reading codes.

I don't think the programmers give out as much as most deisel programmers do. Although the only vehicle I've programmed weighs 7500 pounds so its a bit hard to notice any increase.

I used my programmer in junction with a K&N intake and gibson catback exhaust with gibson headers.

An intake or headers if you don't have them are more worth it. Unless your unable to install headers because it can be pricey. Cost me 800 CAD at an exhaust shop. The engine needs to be moved.
