I see MTX make a 10" replacement sub enclosure. How does it sound with the factory stuff? I am looking to replace the blown stock one I have.

from what ive read on those if you are very particular on sound quality then they are kind of bad but if you just like the bass sound and not the whole truck shaking they are good. i dont have it but thats wht ive read.

Ok. I know it is a bigger sub and more power. I do want the bass but not the earth shattering bass. Right now I have none and I have a buddy that work for a car audio install place. So I thought if it was good then what the heck. I will upgrade door speakers and head unit as time progresses.

I have been looking into the MTX and JL boxes for the Exped's and it seems they are not replacements but add ons to a Expedition that does not have a Mach system with a rear sub already.

They will work as replacements, but the factory amp will not push it so you would have to either use a line level amp or put in after market HU with RCA's so that you could connect it.

Not sure on the MTX, but I know on the JL you have to use the grille that comes with it because the factory grille will hit the sub from what they say.

Well I found out the price of the JL audio one so I figure I would diag what is wrong with my stock sub system. All the wiring is good and the sub works alone. Needs an amp. I can still get an amp from Ford so I ordered one. Only $170 new. So I will try that.
