Why doesnt the expedition get the respect?

I sure hope so...lol. But I think I hurt something on mine just not sure what part yet... But to be fair I think I have exceeded its design limits.

lol that might be the case tom and as for respect i got one kid at school that drives one and all my jeep friends respect it cus i do most of what they do and they got 4+ inches of lift and i got none

Our Expeds at work are able to tackle everything we have thrown at them....washed out county roads, ice, snow, mud, "baha-ing" across the pasture/woods while chasing someone.

My personal Exped has yet to go offroad (outside light mud/county roads) but needs some more mods before I feel comfortable taking her 4x4ing.

The expy is a well rounded workhorse and is sutied for many tasks but not particularly tailored to any one. It has towing capabilites akin to the f150, passenger and cargo capabilites of a loaded country squire, better clearance than smaller suvs (gen 1 anyway), and off road - it takes me anywhere I would need to go. And I'm not talking about driving it across a field I've been on some rough trails over the blue mt a couple times but you need to know and respect the vehicles limits. Its not nimble by any means and too large and awkward for acute off road manuevers. My feeling is that its very little "sport" and very much "utility". How many jeeps could come off a trail and then tow a 26' tandem axel travel trailer, the wife and kids and a load of firewood? The expy deserves a lot of respect for its versatility alone. (Although I think gens 2 & 3 are more country squire than truck)

I took my expy and my bf's lifted bronco on 33's rock crawler and i did everything he did, of course not crawling rocks but he got stuck in the snow, i didnt... 4wd low and i got out.... he was sliding everywhere and getting stuck, i was laughing behind him just scooting along.... so i really think it just depends on the people who want basic trucks to ones who dont.... my expy is not lifted but with my air ride suspension it has gotten me over stuff you wouldnt think it could....

Comes to this, just cause yours cant doesnt mean ours cant, look at tom, his is a racing expy... would never think that.... we have no fear are risk takers, those who are stereo typing never try or are afraid of getting dirty lol... cant take the heat, get out the kitchen hahaha......

expeditions are well rounded. some have body kits, some are lifted. some get dirty and some are just show trucks. some lay frame and other take off to the sky. it all depends on what the owner wants to do. i think people do things to their expeditions because they want to be different.

look at flybyracing. how many expeditions do you see getting air borne? he wanted something that could carry 4 people plus everything he needed for the desert. and yet he still tows it out there. haha just depends on what the owner wants to do. i guess you could do all this to a tahoe or a durango, but with the front end being like an f150 and so many people doing stuff to those i think the expedition is a better choice.

I had the chance to wheel last night and once again the Exped did not disappoint.
Had a grass fire out in the middle of nowhere....followed the fire dpt 6x6s out there through mud, brush, fields, etc.
With all the rain and mud it felt like I was in Jurassic Park haha

I fully agree that Expys are great for any condition. My truck is not rigged for off road but as is my expy has tackled every snow drift and muddy condition that has been thrown at it. I have never gotten stuck and i have seen plenty of pick up trucks and cars in the ditch while i go by with not even a trace of slipping. I have so many people at work say my expy isnt a truck and it cant go off road or out do their pick up trucks in the snow. The weight distribution for an expy is so much better then that of a pick up its not even funny. Screw them, i love my truck and trust that when i need her she can get me home with out a problem.

I dont even have 4x4 or lockers or anything, and my trucks been in some sticky situations.. And never gotten stuck that i couldnt wiggle out of!
