Will a SCT X3 tuner work on 2003 Expedition with 4.6??

There is a guy on craigslist here that has the sct x3 tuner for 200. He says its unlocked from an 05 Mustang GT but I will verify that before buying well actually trading a ps3 and 40 bucks for it.. Will it work on my truck and is that a good price?

You'll need tunes for your truck. So factor that into the total price.

It wont work as is, its VIN locked to the GT, you have to send it back to SCT to get it unlocked($100 last I checked) and someone needs to drop a tune into it.
My opinion, not even close to worth it. You are at or above the cost of a new one when its all said and done

If its already unlocked why would I need to send it to the company to get it unlocked? Is it locked 2 different ways?

Yes, if its unlocked it should be OK, but if its for a 05 GT, thats a canbus system, and your 03 expy should be obd2. Not sure if the tuner can do both. I'd check SCT's website and see if the tuner itself has the same part number for both applications.
