Winch anyone?

Does anyone have a winch on their 1st gem? What do you think about them?

There are a couple, I just saw a member's photo album yesterday but can't remember who it was. The used the stock bumper and mounted the winch tray inside the bumper in between the frame rails. It looks really slick. I'm sure whoever did it will chime in soon enough.

thats nvycrmn. he has an 8000 lb winch. hes used a few times. he likes it, but then again its only 8000 lbs. if he was to try and pull his self out or even another expo in the mud it would have a real hard time. and he also uses the warn hidden winch system which is something i might wanna get when i make my tube bumper.

I haven't really used my 12500 lb winch yet, just kind of played around so far.

But I can say that if you have a winch, you really need to visit customsplice.com and switch over to synthetic winch rope. The 3/8" stuff I have is stronger than 3/8" cable and it won't ever whip back and kill you.

here i am! sorry guys, been busy all this month recruiting! yes, panda is correct. i have the hidden winch mount with an 8K winch. i will eventually move the 8K to the rear and put something a little stronger up front like Tony has.
