windshield wipers

My issue is they don't work. New motor. But by chance with test light I touched the wires. The wipers would move. So are there any grounds that go to the switch. I have different switch but the same thing happens. Moved relay around. The wipers stop on the up position. Son in law changed the steering column. it's a 1997 xlt 5.4

Depends on how you were using the test light, you can supply power or a ground with it.

Grounds are behind the kick panels.

i haven't had a chance to look yet. This weekend I hope. Has been cold weather. But will let the out come. Thanks

I'm still messing with it. Still problem with wipers. But new thing I noticed once I ran the ground wire to the 2nd wire from bottom of switch. The lights on AWD & 4X4 comes on works & the wipers work but won't go down to park the back wiper goes to park. I wonder if the GEM is going bad. But everything else works. I don't know if the GEM can go bad a little at a time
