My wife an I love our 07 Limited. I keep really good care of it but its got 125,000 miles. There's nothing wrong with it, but I'm thinking I would like to have one from new so that I can plan on keeping it for years to come. Are there any good deals out there to try to work dealers for? There are some leftover 13's out there and the new 15's will come out in a few months. Just wondering if anybody has gotten any great deals out there to make it worth my while. I know I should just go to the source and talk to a dealer, but I seriously don't have the time or patience to sit with some salesman for a day unless I'm there to buy. I'm even thinking a lease and then buying it out at the end so that I can keep the payment down. Like I said, I really plan on keeping it for years so I'm not worried about paying on it for more than 60 months.
Thanks.

The deals are out there. the best deals though will be with the Ecoboost in the 2015's. This will be what they try and push the most so there will be steeper discounts through the right dealers. My younger brother picked up a 2005 EB last week for a screaming deal. The owner was a company man in St. George, UT and he drove down and picked it up. Funny part is they went down in my older brothers '08 EL KR and the guy decided he wanted to change his to the EL instead. However, the seller was telling my brothers that he was buying a new Ecoboost Expy from a dealer in TX for $16K off MSRP. I think more of the price drop is the promotional effort to boost the SUV market with the new engine lineup from Ford. So the deals are out there, but it may mean taking a little trip.

Also, the Ecoboost has a proven track record along with the 6R80 backing it up. Advice with the dealer, tell them up front your there for business not for the back and forth. If you get to the negotiating part, tell them the manager needs to be at the table because your time is to precious for them to play the stupid game of back and forth. If they start the game, get up and start walking away while reminding them that you gave them a warning and they didn't listen. Thick skinned negotiators usually get the best deals. Good luck with the endeavor.

To me, it's not worth the trade since I enjoy being car payment free. That doesn't keep me from looking though. If I were going to get back into a payment, I would hold out for the '15 and get everything I wanted. If you're going to pay for it for a long time, might as well be 100% happy when you drive it.

Why do you think a brand new model will have steep discounts? That's almost never the case.

I guarantee you will get a far better deal on a leftover 2013 or 2014 once the 2015'***** the floors.
