Coming from a 2007 Denali XL (3.42 FDR) with full time AWD and 6 speed AT , my highway average at 75 was 16, if I can get 21, that is a 31% improvement. Around town in the winter had to baby it to get perhaps 12. In recent years Denali went with selectable transfer case to help. MPG is not the concern for me, but more so range. My acid test is 500 miles + highway between gas stops
I got 450 out of a tank on a road trip this weekend. Keep in mind I have the larger 28 gallon tank as it's a Max.

I understand mileage isnt a priority when picking a full sized tank but these are pretty respectable numbers nonetheless

If I can get 20 MPG and use 25 gallons with 3 left will hit the 500 mark. My Max Plat. is scheduled to arrive in 3 weeks, with tow package.

I believe Explorers/Acadia/Travers's will not be much better in AWD configuration than the full size SUV's I think they are lucky to get better than say 23 MPG highway.

4x4 MAX Limited w/ heavy tow package (3.73). As of 3000 miles (well, 2960 something) I’m averaging 18.3 MPG. I drive a pretty good mix of highway, city, around town, whatever...

3.73 4x4 swb averaging around 13.5 almost all of it is city stop and go driving. And I do not have a lead foot. But I always turn the engine start/stop off.

Anybody that says they don't care about mpg on a truck this big is a liar, if you didn't care about mpg then in reality money is not an object to you and if that's really the case then you'd be driving a 300k range rover not a ford of all things
