Well, decided to finally get the bubbling paint from the hood & lift gate off my mind once & for all-I will be turning in the expedition for a new make.
Sorry, FORD, but your unwillingness to take care of these issues on your high end products has forced me to make this decision.
While mine was still under warranty I noticed the bubbling paint and I was told that unless a hole develops there was nothing ford would do, and they didn't. I guess this is the out they have-I wonder how long it would take for a hole to develop in aluminum-100 years? More? Less? Either way...
Mine is going in tomorrow to have both front windows looked at-the drivers side is actually stuck about 2" down. And I will also have the intermittent passenger front door lock actuator replaced. Too many electrical issues for 110K miles.
Holy chit!! That's a lot of miles for an 07!! Cudos to you. I have been running Mobil One full synthetic for about 40K now.
I will certainly look into motorkote-thanks.
I agree 100% on the maintenance issue-although I trust my local ford dealer, I perform my own regular maintenance. I do keep up on the transmission & coolant-both were recently flushed.
I should get under the expy and look at the suspension & other miscellaneous items...maybe next week.
I tow...
I am willing to bet that this vehicle will continue to offer excellent service, but with a 4 year old & another one on the way I am wondering if this should continue to be our primary vehicle.
My wife knows how much I love this one, and there's no way I am willing to drop 60K on a new one. We...
I have an 07 expy with 108K miles-vehicle has been flawless (well, flawless aside from the paint issue...) but am beginning to wonder if I should look at a newer model with warranty coverage.
What kind of miles do you have on your expy's, and should I reconsider buying a newer model at this...
Has anyone had success with taking their vehicles to a good paint shop and having the bubbled areas properly prepped and painted then clear coated?
Just wondering because I am no longer able to sit back and do nothing anymore-even though it kills me that ford knows about this and is doing...
I have an 07 expy el eb with heated and cooled front seats. The problem I am experiencing is that the driver seat works intermittently-it will work for the first minute or so, but then turns off (while heating or cooling) and will not restart. You can press the buttons but the lights on the...
My dealer also said that since there weren't any holes due to corrosion there wouldn't be coverage. I guess that means there will never be corrosion coverage on the hoods and lift gates since it will take many, many years for holes to develop in the aluminum.
Ha ha-I guess I didn't notice the difference between eb's and xlt's lighting package.
Overall I really like my eb package, although I would like to have the best of both worlds-who doesn't?
I currently have the bench style 2nd row seating-is it possible (it always is, right...) to change to captains seats instead? If so, what all has to be done? I would think that every vehicle is set up for either bench or captain seating in the second row.
Well, I have put these mirros to good use-towed a 26' classic wooden boat from the eastern end of the upper peninsula of Michigan to the south east part of Wiscosin, Lake Geneva to be specific.
The mirrors allowed me to see vehicles behind me that my expy mirrors couldn't show. Very good...
As the title states, I need to get some towing mirrors. I have an 07 expy and was wondering if the mirrors are the same as that of the 07 f-150.
Also, what types of mirrors are you guys using?
Another way to tell if you have the hd tow package is to look at your transmission cooler-it is right in front of your radiator. I believe that the owners manual explains it, but I think that if there are seven rows in the cooler that means you also have the hd package.
Right, it just seems like it takes a few seconds for it to fully engage. Weird. Later this fall I will be towing a 26' boat to Wisconsin for an antique wooden boat show and I just don't want to have any issues along the way.
Occasionally when I shift my 07 expy into reverse there is a couple of second delay before it actually "shifts". I'm going to get the tranny fluid changed and r/r the filter-is this what could happen with dirty fluid?
