Question on gen3 Cooling System
Just got under car.......the a/c compressor is where the vibration is coming from. With the a/c off it still is engaging now and then?? Comes on for a second or two and then off......a/c seems to be working good, even though it is cold out. The belt and pulley probably should be changed...- E36Graduate

Fuel Induction Service
I've got an audi v8 with fsi and have had the carbon cleaning done ...I've also had all 3 generations of ford expeditions and Never heard of any induction/injection cleaning service????? Change your plugs yourself!- E36Graduate

Is this engine noise normal?
I've had 5.4 3 valves for a long time but probably not long enough to have phaser noise like that........however I've had the phaser noise from about 30k all the way to 100k...again not as loud but enough knock/wrap that it sounds like a main bearing issue..... Problem after problem!!
Have you installed something aftermarket prior to this problem of a drained battery? Do you have a volt meter you can put on your battery and see how much charge your getting when running? Your voltage regulator may be malfunctioning too?- E36Graduate

We traded our 06 expy for 12 expy, however we were looking at alternative suv's and the honda pilot was top of her list. I couldn't convince her on a explorer, which I thought was a better choice. Thanks.....I actually was sitting my wife's new expy and saying I will keep my miles down on the rs4 because I like the expy so much!! The rs is a fun car! Eats as much fuel as expedition! I bet it could pull the expy up a hill with its awd and 420 bhp....- E36Graduate

Catalytic converter warranty?
If your truck is < 8 years old then I would fight to have them fixed under warranty. Especially at 2k miles over a 80k mile warranty? Those cats weren't breaking overnight at 82k !!!!! That is just down right rudeness!- E36Graduate

We had an 03 XLT and just sold it with 100,000 miles. Me and my mechanic changed the plugs and it wasn't a big deal...you just gotta be careful with those plugs in the back.
