    Ram Mirrors Have Arrived!

Wow... they are large. Did you need them for trailer towing? The F-series extendable ones wouldn't fit?

What did you do to the expy today

Got the Treadwright Guardians mounted up and put on. So nice to no longer have the annoying vibration from the BadYears.

    resetting the CEL

Long story short... my truck overheated on a -6 morning while idling alongside the road. When I got back in the CEL was on and the truck was in Limp mode. After a ride on the hook, I have my truck back home. Now it seems that it came out of limp mode when it cooled down, but the CEL is...

How Many Miles Between Oil Changes

I'm running mine up to a premium synthetic with a LONG OCI. So this time is 7,500. The next is 10k. This is on full synthetic. I'm very wary of anything called synthetic blend. There is no actual standard for what makes a synthetic blend. So it can be 99.99% group II conventional and one...

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

Unfortunately those U-haul POS trailers only have surge brakes. If you had electric brakes, you would have been able to tap the brakes on trailer only to bring it under control. The trailer's short length created much of your problem. Because of the weight of the old girl loaded incorrectly...

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

I'm not sure what came on. I bought it with no air ride on it. But... I got it from an excavating company. The owner used it as his personal ride. He did use it to tow at times, so maybe he ordered it this way or removed the air ride system. Illinois summer weather is Florida summer...

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

I could key on all day long and it wouldn't change the ride level....:chewie: Yeah.... I know I have to paint, the village has whined at me this year as it was. My house is about 3000 sq ft. That's alot of ladder time for a guy with crap knees.

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

A couple more tows for me... that is the same trailer as my other one, but my wheeling Jeep on it. This was using the adjustable flip hitch that belongs to the troop. I've replaced it since then with a standard rise hitch and we reloaded the trailer. It rides nice and level now.

    Another dreaded Oil question.

I crawl under my 90 Cherokee to change the oil.. more room under there than there is under my 01 EB. Of course the Cherokee sits on 4.5" of lift... I had a problem with the PO using an oil change place that cranked down on the filter. For a bit I thought I was going to have to go to NAPA...

What the HECK is this on the back side of the center console?

My controls are the same spot as yours. But I have no sun roof. And I have done the same thing to the kids when they are especially whiny....

Anyone install a valve body (shift) kit in their Gen1?

I looked for one for my tranny as I use my Expy as a tow slut. But I couldn't find a kit that I liked.

What the HECK is this on the back side of the center console?

I don't have it... that is where my rear heater controls are at.

    Another dreaded Oil question.

K&N oil filters are made by Champion Labs, just like a ton of other filters. Just get yourself a good quality filter and skip the fancy name and welded nut.

    Brown Wire Mod: How To

I realize that I could do that. I'm not sold on the idea of adding another layer of electrical stuff to troubleshoot in case of problems. Like I said though, I really doubt there is anywhere near 30a running through that wire. That is alot of 12v DC current to be going through there.

    Brown Wire Mod: How To

Does anyone know how many amps actually run through that wire??? I sincerely doubt that it is anywhere near 30a running in what looks like 14 gauge in the pictures. I ask, as I would love to use a small latching push button switch on the dash for this. But switches able to handle 30a are much...

    Another dreaded Oil question.

Cool test... gonna have a tough time finding most of those in the US...Those are Australian blends. Since I don't know what was used on the last oil change or the history of this truck... other than a fram orange oil filter. I went with Amsoil OE this time and a Napa Gold oil filter. When I...

What other Forums do you use and how do they compare to the Exy Forum?

I like the membership atmosphere here. But the tech stuff is pretty light outside of a few members and posts. I'm a long time member of NAXJA. Which is phenomenal for Jeep Cherokee tech but too many people take the atmosphere too far.

    Best penetrating oil

There are literally dozens of penetrating oils out there. Almost all of them are pretty good, because they are based on the same materials. WD-40 is not a penetrating oil though. It is a pretty good water displacer though. It will really take the moisture out of places its shouldn't be.

Suburban owner switches to expedition after 17 yearsp

Enjoy it or don't the way you want. The 'burb and Expy are sold the exact same market segment, so of course they are going to be similar. I've only driven the new editions of either as rentals... and after the first few days they all start to look/feel/drive the same. So sit down.. enjoy the...

Rear trailing arms after lifting 1st gen

If your stock ones are in good shape.. I'd be interested in the used ones after you remove them. I have a dime sized hole in one of mine.

    Which CAI

Which of those systems use an oiled filter? My vote would be for something else. Oiled filters can lead to big problems. And if you live in a dusty environment, they can be deadly to your engine. You are seeing 'improved' mileage, because of your driving... not a piece of aluminum pipe.

    97-03 tow package

My plug for the brake controller was on the same bracket as the obd-II plug. Directly next to it.
