I could key on all day long and it wouldn't change the ride level....:chewie:

Yeah.... I know I have to paint, the village has whined at me this year as it was. My house is about 3000 sq ft. That's alot of ladder time for a guy with crap knees.

Didn't all that generation of Expedition with 4 wheel drive come with air ride rear at least?

3,000 isn't that bad it's the prep work and I'll trade you painting mine in the Florida heat for prepping and painting yours in the summer.

Towed this bad boy about 250 miles not too long ago:

The trailer dry was 2250#, the truck I'm guessing was 4500-5klb plus the canopy, I should've had it weighed but in guessing conservatively I was pulling 7000 lb. I tell ya what, the truck pulled it very well, had more than enough power to climb Snoqualmie pass, as well as the "Vantage Hill" which is 10 miles of 4% grade, I held 55-60mph with some pedal to spare (not much). The trans temp while on the highway never went over 180* even while going over the passes!

I even averaged just over 9mpg! I should also add that it averaged 90-95* outside and I was always a cool 78* inside the truck :)

I will say though, that truck was a$$ heavy because I had it pulled as far forward as it would go, and hunkered down tight with straps, still only squatted the Expy by 1/2-1". Needless to say, it wagged all over the place and was the scariest tow I've ever done.

I am impressed with my truck regardless and look forward to what I'm able to tow in the future!

I'm not sure what came on. I bought it with no air ride on it. But... I got it from an excavating company. The owner used it as his personal ride. He did use it to tow at times, so maybe he ordered it this way or removed the air ride system.

Illinois summer weather is Florida summer weather without the afternoon rainstorm ever day. Hot, humid as heck and wet.

My truck has the HD towing package and does not have air ride. I think air ride was more of a luxury than a standard option. Especially on the early year trucks.

Air ride is a cool idea, as is power mirrors and running boards. Problem with these so-called luxury items, is that they break after a few years of real-world use, and then you are stuck with a worse scenario than if you just had opted for the more traditional options.

I really don't know what I could have done differently short of using a different trailer. I get shivers when I think about how dangerous that was. I nearly lost control at least 10 times, I could usually power out of a bad wag but every now and again it'd get way too bad and start sending me all over the place.

That truck reminds me of Farm Truck.

Dude! Now I just may have a direction for its future ;-)

Not many people knew that truck, until that TV show came out.

What show?
