need a lil more info...what kind of power are you looking for? Either way, if you want a power adder then you shouldn't be concerned about fuel consumption cuz that'll be gone with either. Also, while I am aware of several types and brands of superchargers for the f150, I don't know of any turbo kit for an expy or non diesel ford so a LOT of fabrication will be necessary and now you need to look at what you want to spend unless you can do all the work yourself
being that my truck will still be a daily driver im gud around 450 to 500hp (but torque is where its at u know) to all four wheels, and as far as price go,not really worried about that
turbonetics makes a kit for ford gas powered trucks however i would go with a self contained supercharger for the easier install and maintence... turbos work great on fast reving gas motors because they are easier to keep cool and on diesels where you can hit 1300 exhaust temps with causing harm, 600 degrees on gas motor is about max. besides the plumbing of the turbo would be a pain with the oil lines and coolant lines and intercooler.. unless your bulding a race truck i would go with supercharger... as for gas mileage forced induction will hel if driven rite but it can also kill the mileage if you keep your foot in it
the most recent ford lightning made 360 supercharged horsepower. If you want 500, it isn't gonna happen with just a power adder unless you run about 16lbs of boost and then you'll only be able to step on the gas pedal one time. To avoid grenading your engine, if you want 500 hp, it'll probably cost you about $15-18k to build your engine and put the blower on it. Or just spend $29k and order a shelby gt500 crate motor
