Which do you all prefer the 5.4 2V or 3V?

We are still searching for the right expy for our family. In the last month we have test drove all 03/04 2V's. Yesterday we got behind the wheel of a 05 3V. The extra 50hp of the 3V made a very noticeable difference. We are thinking about discounting looking at the 03/04 with the 2V.

Let's hear what everyone likes and why.

Rob

only problem I see is 2V plugs can be blown out due to not enough threads in the heads... and the 3V have problems with the 2 piece plugs snapping on removal... but I would take the extra HP of the 3v....

The 3V plugs breaking is not an issue with the tool. The plugs blowing out however is a little more difficult...

I am the oppisite of Walnuts. I would rather have the 2v. More HP mods for it and cheaper. If I would have done more research,I would have gotten the 2v. To late now.

Well. I've had both. I had an 07' 3v with the standard gear ratio and 6-speed auto, and now I have an 03' 2v with 4 speed auto and 3.73 gears. It also has the towing package where the 07' didn't. I'm sure its the transmission and gears that make the difference, but between the two I've had the 03' feels like its the one that has more power... the 07' got better gas mileage though.

My 2V is poochy, it can't keep up with my 4v 4cyl Mitsubishi. I have mods planned for the future however.

It's an SUV that weighs nearly 6K LBS. Racing is a loosing proposition with SUV if you ask me.

:signs8:

When I have any issues with my 08, I already it's replacement lined up out of a GT500... :happy107: 6K lbs sould be less of an issue with that...
