Hey guys! Long time since I've been on here, but I'm back now :D

So anyways, I have found a set of 2001 shop manuals on evilbay for a decent price, and was wondering how different are the '01 and '02 models? Did for just not publish a 02 set because they are so similar??? Obviously my truck is considered a 2002, but it was really made in 8/01. And I can't find ANY shop manuals for the 2002 year, so should I just go with the 01 set?

Thanks in advanced guys!

The factory shop manuals?

I have the Haynes book for it, but it's too generic...

they didnt change anything in the motors. the motors are the same up until 04 when they added the 3V. 97-98 have the same motors then the 99-03 have the same motors. they are the same. the haynes book works for all years. works on my 98 and nvycrmn's 01.

That's what I though. Wikipedia says that there is no difference between the 01 and 02. So I think I'll be good

thats news to me. post up some picks of the engine. i want to see that. and the oil filter location. depends on if you have the relocation kit. they came with it until 99 when it was an option. for example mine is behind the bumper while some are by the pan.

I thought a triton motor was a triton??? I know that the early 4.6 motors were non-triton, but I have the triton 4.6 under the hood

And the more I think about it, why would ford skip the publication for 2002 shop manuals??

OlBlue, with the manuals, it is more than likely a time frame where they were starting to convert all of their "manuals" over to electronic. So, you will find that some years/models may not have a paper manual since they were the test platforms for the new electronic system. Starting in 2004, you can not get a paper manual that I am aware of because all the "manuals" were being sent to the dealerships on a dated DVD and in 2006, they went to a completely internet based system where you have to pay a subscription to be on it.

Point taken, but, I found factory paper manuals for my parents 2009 focus and 2010 fusion, so........

theres manuals for specific models of vehicles. my moms 08 4runner has one my dads 04 tundra has one. but its harder to find. mostly because people are too lazy to work on their vehicles anymore. they dont want to learn all the electronics and vacuum lines. so they just take them in.

Also, found something interesting......

Ford shop manuals for 2002 for every vehical EXCEPT the expedition, and an eBay listing that confirms my suspicion of 01 and 02 being so similar, no manuals were printed for 02
