Hey guys, first time poster here. Just picked up my 07 EB a little over a month ago, and I am tired of looking at the wood grain. I'm going to learn how to do hydrographic film application and replace the wood grain with marble. At least that's what the plan is.

Anyway, I know how to get everything apart except for the shifter. Does anyone have any info that shows how to get the two "wood" pieces off without breaking anything?

Thanks in advance!

The two "wood" pieces on the shifter handle just pry off from the front and according to the Ford manual are to be discarded and new ones installed, which to me sounds like they break off.

Matt,

Are there any pictures in the manual? Or replacement part numbers by chance?

Jason,

I didn't see anything pertaining to shifter removal but it looked pretty detailed in assistance of removing the console.

Its pretty straight forward i did it with a pocket screwdriver i keep in the glove box but i suggest you start from the front were the lever is theres a slignt gap and pry around dosent take much to get it of just try not to scratch the chrome ;)

Need help. 2007 limited, the chrome piece in the middle of the wood shifter cracked! Need new one. All I keep finding is complete shifter assemblies. I only needs the wood/chrome piece. Can someone help?
