Here are a few shots of my new (to me) '98 Eddie Bauer.
This is my second Expy, the first was a '99 XLT 4.6L AWD with the sport suspension package. Unfortunately for me, the '99 went with the ex-wife.

Good for me on the ex-wife, but bad for me on the Expy...
Found me a diamond in the rough on this one! Price was super cheap and it was in excellent condition!
First morning I had it

Stock aluminum wheels with mismatched tires and a total of ONE hubcap (which got sucked off the first week in a carwash). Notice the rake of the rig due to the previous owner swapping out the rear airbags with a coil supsension upgrade. Front end was still stock with bad airshocks.
Couple of months later

Aluminum wheels and mismatched tires replaced with OEM chrome steel wheels and 10ply BFG tires from a 2000 XLT. Complete with center caps! Would have kept the aluminum wheels, but one of them was cracked. Also, notice the front ride height fixed! Yanked the blown airshocks and replaced them with conventional gas shocks and adjusted the torsion bars up to level the rig.
Current look of the Expy.

Pulled the roof rack bars off. The paint was peeling and generally looked like crap! Gotts mod done to the intake and muffler swapped out with a good quality muffler. Next major upgrade will be to replace the stock 2 1/4" tailpipe with a 3" tailpipe. I still cannot understand why Ford sold this model with a 2 1/2" exhaust from the manifolds to the muffler, then a 2 1/4" pipe from the muffler out. Can you say choke point???
Future plans, front end update! I have never been a fan of the "buttcrack" grille or the batwing style oversized front bumper. So my plans are to swap out the awful '98 front end with a '99-'03 bumper and a F-150 old style grille to rid it of the car appearance.
Being the fact that this is my daily driver/family rig, not planning any lift kits or oversized tires. Just needs to be a solid trustworthy rig.
