I have a 2010 Exp EB EL and I'm shopping around for some exhaust performance mods.

I'm looking at Gibson stainless exhaust and Gibson headers. CGS do have the exhaust as well and finally Magnaflow. Anyone here have experienced these brands? Any feedback on them? Which would you recommend? What can you say about their sound? Set aside the amount of these mods what would you guys recommend?

Would it be a good choice to install headers or it's not necessary? In addition to this im looking at the k&n cold air or the aem dry cold air intake in addition a tuner to compliment these mods.

Thank you in advance and looking for some pf your suggestions regarding these mods...

I will give you this however I am a GM guy. I'd skip flowmaster, they are cheap and sound like shit, remember every raspy mustang in the 80s? Yep that's the flowmaster brand.

My first choice would be Corsa. Expensive and top shelf quality however they have zero interest in making an exhaust for the Expedition as it stands now from my e mails back and forth with them over the last few months.

My second choice would be magnaflow, while not a bad exhaust it's quality is not that of Corsa. Hardware and fit overall is not as perfect. I also notice their support is so-so depending on issues (IE shipping w/o brackets or clamps).

As far as headers I have not dug into that on these engines as I don't think I'll need them with a blower. I will probably put a magnaflow system on when the blower goes on but I'm still pushing Corsa to develop a system for these trucks.

Have it all on mine...MagnaFlow(check exhaust sticky), K&N intake, and Hypertech. Headers would be nice but probably not necessary. But if ya have the $ and time, by all means...

Ditch the hypertech and build yourself a tune. You will thank me later with the new found power.

I have flowmaster....a lot of us do and I personally love it...flowmaster...Gibson...magnaflow...to each their own...you will hear of "drone"...I love the drone sound...going dual flowmasters eventually...there are a lot of youtube vids to hear the difference...intake is good...programmer is good too...hypertech and superchips are what they call "canned" tunes...preset from the company and that's it...if you get with 5startuning in the vendor section you can get an sct programmer with 5 tunes custom to what you want out of your truck to include the mods (intake...exhaust...etc) installed on your truck...all same price...

from what ive read on here...headers aren't necessary unless youre really going to dig in with engine mods and port the engine and whatever else...

You are the first person I have ever heard say they liked and wanted drone, 99.9999% of people complain, change speeds, and even exhaust systems to get rid of it. Read exhaust reviews and complaints are drone related. Drone is the by product of a poorly designed exhaust system that leaves power and efficiency on the table.

more so what is porting the engine?

I love reading when people have no clue what they are talking about. Makes me giggle like a little girl.

Thanks. But freeway is the first person I've ever heard enjoy drone and let's be real we all know hypertech is a junk can tune that people over pay for.

I am DA MAN...lol...but a lot of ppl don't have that knowledge...regardless of how much research they do...someone did post all the numbers for every muffler on the market

can't comment on the Gibson system. I still have stock manifolds too.

Have had Flowmaster, SUV50 after supercharger installed, then the 40 series when the 50 finally rotted out. No complaints. There may be some "drone" at highway speeds, however it is not enough to overcome chat nor music.

make sure whomever, or yourself, that your exhaust is mounted using some type of hangars with the rubber insulation/padding. I think this makes a big difference in what translates into the cab/body. I had two extra sets put on mine, and am only using a single outlet, 3" stainless post "y" pipe.

++ on listening to the various soundbytes.

I'll second that. Some of the flowmaster series sounds awesome and some sound like crap, but it's all opinion. Personally though I don't care for a mean exhaust on an suv. Just cars.

Magnaflow

I just bought a 2007 and can't wait to get a Magnaflow on it. I had K&N CAI, Edelbrock Shorty headers, Magnaflow cat back on my gen 1 and it was amazing. Magnaflow was a perfect bolt on fit and better quality than anything I have tried before. The sound at takeoff was so noticeable but at cruising speeds was perfect for interior cab sound.
