Been wanting to boost this thing for a while. The whole truck is stock right now. I have the supercharger and intake piping off a lighting's 5.4 and am wondering if I just need to get the intake manifold for that supercharger to the 5.4 (The same one the lighting has) to give it a couple pounds of boost. I understand running 5+psi will need a tune and larger injectors.

So, will the intake manifold off a lighting for that supercharger work so I can put a large pulley and boost it 4-5lbs for now?

I've supercharged a 4L SOHC Exploder before, but this triton is a different animal.

All input is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the 3V engines don't use the same manifold as the Lightnings. You would have to make a custom one to retrofit the SC on top. I remember someone doing it for the 32V Navigator engine, but not the 3V.

05 3v Expeditions have several supercharger kits readily available.

The lightning intake is set up for 2v PI heads so it will not mate with the 3V heads. While an adapter plate can likely be made since they are both 5.4 I doubt any exist since supercharger kits already exist!? Don't think they would have a high enough demand to warrant making them.

I can understand trying to use a lightning setup in an attempt to save money but believe it would be far too difficult a project and could end up costly. Better off using one of kits set up for the 3v motor.

Whipple 2.3 moves more air than an Eaton 1.8, capable of more boost and its more efficient. No question I want one. I would be pushing 600+ rwhp if I had one.:party36:

Whipple, Edelbrock and Rousch supercharger kits
available for 3V 5.4?
Not a lot of stuff available for 3V 5.4 compared to 2V.
Still looking for SS shorty headers. Only one made, I
think. A Gibson. But some confusion, because the F150 is
mostly mentioned in catalogs relating to 3V engine goodies.
There must be slight differences between engine compartments
of F150 and Expedition. More so than first generation.

It is designed for 2v 'PI' heads on 5.4. It will mate right up to 1999 and later 2v 5.4's.
