Key in OFF position.
Operate the interior lamps by opening and closing the doors.
Do the interior lamps illuminate?

The interior lamps are inoperative
Instrument cluster module.
Vehicle security module
Go To Pinpoint Test A .

That was pinpoint Test A1

Now for test A2
A2 CHECK INTERIOR LAMP OPERATION AT THE HEADLAMP SWITCH
Operate the interior lamps by turning the interior lamp switch on.
Do any interior lamps illuminate?
Yes
CARRY OUT no communication test with suspect module. REFER to Section 413-01 for the instrument cluster module or Section 419-10 for the vehicle security module.

No
GO to A3 .

before we get into the next test/s

With the engine off and the key still in the Ign switch does the chime work when you open the doors

Also see if the chimes work when the key is removed but your headlight are on and you open a door

Im following this as well, my radio wont shut off and my interior lights dont turn on when the door is opened, no key chime or lights left on chime, no door ajar warning. From other reading I thought it was the door switch, I havent replaced mine yet but this seems to be more indepth testing

Hey take the drivers side sill plate off and get to the wires that run in there
Find urself 3 purple wires that run into a union going towards the front of the truck
The union will just look like heat shrink .
Now when u find it you'll have 3 wires going towards the rear of the truck and at the union 1 running towards the front .
In the union the wires might be corroded
I had some of the same symptoms and that's what I found .
Repaired that and everything works as it should now
Good luck

Bringing this back from the dead.

Crazy_moh, DOHC-Bird, anyone else

Were these wires under the metal guard thats under the drivers sill plate? In the wire loom underneath? If so, I assume you had to crack open the loom.
Or were they in front of the metal guard behind the drivers kick panel?
I have the exact same sypmtoms, Im just trying to pinpoint the same purple wires so I can check mine.
