Tuned!!!!

Finally received my SCT X4 from Stage 3 Motorsports last week and my tunes from 5 Star this morning. I went with 93 performance, 93 performance/tow and 89 performance/tow. As ive said many times on here before I wont run 87 in my truck whether tuned or not unless I absolutely have to so an 87 tune wasn't even an option for me.

Naturally I uploaded the 93 performance tune first. I just got back from my 1st drive and HOLY CRAP does this thing move now. Its 16* here so I took it easy till the oil temp got to normal but even taking it easy it feels way different. I'm super impressed. I was on the fence for a while because of the warranty and what not but I'm glad I made the move. Going on a trip this weekend to go wheeling with a bunch of SxS friends and I'll be towing heavy with my toy hauler and SxS loaded up. Cant wait to see how she pulls with the 93 perf/tow tune installed.

Ive been impressed with the Ecoboost since day one and thought my truck was quick with the little V6 but its something else now for sure.

Congrats, tuning is definitely NOT overrated in these trucks. I haven’t used the P/Tow in my truck, but even with 9K pounds being towed, I didn’t have any issues on the 93 Perf tune.
5 Star is pretty good at communicating if the need arises too. They’re working on my third revision for me, always call me back within an hour or two if they don’t answer my call, and haven’t charged me a dime extra to make the changes.

Good to know. I'm gonna be towing close to 9k this weekend but I figure I'll go ahead and swap to the perf/tow tune just to be safe. I talked to a guy at 5 Star yesterday and that's what he recommended. Said with that tune boost is lowered a bit and the trans settings are different.

Either way I'm convinced towing with this new power is going to be much better.

So would you recommend this tuner? I’ve been eyeballing it for a while. I run 87, thinking about moving up to 93 (still on fence in regards to fuel economy and power difference) and would go 87 economy, 87 perf/tow, and probably 93 perf/tow.
