You know, the one's that emit light from the side mirror onto the ground when you unlock your door.

Without taking the little lens off, I would venture to say mine are halogen. They have that yellow halogen look to the light.

It just bothers me since all the interior lights are led and look sweet.

I have an XLT model so I was curious if it's just my trim level or across the board.

My platinum also appears to be halogen. And they buzz on the driver's side (which is on my punch list when I make it back into the dealer).

He's talking about on a 4th-gen, which honestly surprises me. I would have thought they'd upgrade them to LED. Most everything else on it is, especially on the higher trim levels.

Are they the same shape as the 3rd-gens? Maybe the replacement ones for them like in J's thread would work.

They look to be the same size/item. I bet you the product j ski posted would work...and I am very interested because I think the existing light is rather dinky.

Yeah they'd work. There's no wiring harness under there either, it's just spade connectors, so don't need to worry about that either.

All you've got to lose is about $9 on AliExpress!

I’m surprised that ford has still yet to make all lighting led. That’s lime o e of the first “visual” modifications ppl go and do is convert to LED. Just looks way better

It's cost. Yeah they're cheap to get from China, but to redesign a fixture they use across many model lines, test it for performance, reliability, etc… analyze for cost, retool the factory, plan for use of existing inventory of the part it's replacing, source suppliers…

It's really complicated. That's why we see individual parts in use for so long.
