Yes I agree the Tahoe RST is crazy fast, I mean a full size SUV coming in at 5.7 Seconds 0-60! Something to admire. GM has a great motor in that 6.2L, all while getting better MPGs than a 6 cylinder.

Someone is petty, really shows your character.
There is no losing lol. I was not aware you could “lose” a discussion. Simply pointing out great V8 motors of today, smelling the roses if you will. I never had to leave ford here.... the 6.2L and 6.7L are top dog in the market.Yet, wrong again, if we of course use the sacred OEM numbers.

Don’t get me wrong. RST is again a beast. I personally like the ride of the independent rear in the Expy, and the added rear floor space it allows.
Lost the discussion talking about Ford V8’s, so you brought the Chevy in. Smoke and Mirrors.
But it's certainly more noisy, more harsh and nowhere as smooth has the v-8. It also revs significantly higher. But it's certainly up to the task, cruising at 85 and 90 for hours with power to spare. I averaged 15 mpg on my trip, probably not much better if at all than my V-8.
Former Democrats' administrations have forced fuel consumption to be the issue that receives design priority. Unless it's your priority too, by all means choose the V-8. It's a much better all around performer and most likely a longer life engine.
As a side note, the Alamo rental was plagued with small issues. The electronic dash instruments were a mess, with ABS, BRAKE and Traction Control lights coming on with every pothole. Each time one lit, screen warnings popped up like Christmas trees with a cacophony of dings and gongs and beeps.
The push button start was convenient and cool but needless nonsense waiting to break.
I'm happy with my 2008. I think with all things considered, for me it's a better selection of components. As far as the V-6 goes, I would prefer not to buy one. I view it simply as unnecessary complexity required for an inferior product.
Just one more foolish mandate from a misguided overreaching government and the sheep who follow blindly.
Boy! What conflict! I didn't to insult or fuel a ******* match. I just like the durability, quiet and smoothness of a V-8. To me that far trumps the modest mileage and power gains.

This isn't a discussion, you turned it into a debate and yes you can and have lost the debate

Do you really want to call me names because I prefer one motor over another?
You've got to be kidding.
I wish you guys who are lucky enough to own a new truck with an Ecoboost a long, long happy and troublefree relationship with your motor. It's a well proven engine. One day I'll probably own one too when they stop building the V-8's.
Geez -- lighten up guys. I'm really sorry for offending that tough guy who wants to beat me up because I prefer eight spark plugs to six.
Case in point. Another non owner dogging a newer Expedition. *shaking head. This forum contains about 5% helpful info and the balance is a bit of a waste of server hard drive space in my opinion.
In other news, Motor Trend tested 5 of the full size suvs out there and the Expedition (4th gen) came in first place. I’m a former exclusive Toyota owner who has put 300,000 miles on my last three Toyota’s so I’m sad to say the Sequoia came in dead last. Funny how guys who know a thing or two about vehicles and have driven everything from Rolls Royce’s to G Wagons and everything in between find an Ecoboost Expedition with tons of bells and whistles, a superior truck to the rest of them out there. Once again, this is my very first foray into Fords, so I’m pretty unbiased. But the ecoboost hating is just silly.
